been working at the disaster recovery site since 4am. it's a 12 hour
shift today... happy bday to me...

update:
accident was on the carpool lane. our bus had to slowly move out of the carpool so all the passengers got a good look at the scene. looked like a motorcycle guy had his last ride this morning. actually saw the dead body covered with yellow tarp. chp was all over the place. looked like a bus hit him. saw the bus driver sobbing at the side. so sad....

the only mid-day bus that stops at the Via Verde Park & Ride off the
10 Frwy. boooo!! although only cost $2.25 I think to ride... can't
really complain at that cost.

eastbound silver streak bus.

welcome to foothill transit's extended silver steak bus. this thing is
about 5 car lengths, looks like a long snake when turning corners. my
usual F499 express bus only runs during rush hours, and gets me to the
park & ride in about 45 mins. this one will take me about 1.5 hours
with one transfer (F480) needed at the Lakes at West Covina.

a winter afternoon in Diamond Bar.

the road to home, by the Sylvan Glen hillside. we are hitting 90
degrees on a California winter day. u gotta love Cali for that. home
sweet home.

the office morning grub. green bagels and green cream cheese. thanks
to our Irish co-workers.

our lady of angles cathedral.

this used to be a parking lot. there a is an underground cemetary in
the cathedral with a maze of hallways. pretty creepy and cold in there
but an interesting tourist destination. the cathedral I would say is a
complete opposite of the Disney concert hall a block away. the Disney
bring bright and shinny, while the cathedral is dull and exciting as
staring at cardboard. downtown people all thought that they were going
to paint it, but I guess the builders likes the cardboard look.

morning walk.

bus was late today, and it was crowded. I hate crowds. you are looking
at the corner of temple and hill in downtown LA. that is Our Lady of
Angels Cathedral on the right. the LA County Hall of Administration is
across the street.

my old neighborhood.

went for a joy ride again with in the lunch run to hollywood to get
out of the office chaos even for just a few minutes. this is looking
down Melrose Ave. from Normandie Ave. I'm very familiar with the
place having spent my first years in LA here...

2010 la marathon.

the marathon road closure signs are now scattered around downtown.
this will be the 7th year I won't be running it.... it's really never
if, it is a matter of when... let's get that runners high one more time.

these series of photos were taken no other than my better half via iPhone hipstamatic. the 42nd street cafe in Claremont, California, known for their cool collection of bagels is where you'll find us 90% of the time on Saturday mornings. absolutely good coffee with flavors mixed by the cafe themselves. decaf european blend is my fav.  this is S in a very good mood....
